Hybrid Typography

This was an experimental typography project intended to cross the boundary from 2D to 3D. It is a different take on Schweppes Tonic Water shown in a series of posters. The only text used was that on the bottle label. The effect was created with photography and transparencies, and there was a series of 3 posters from the project.

Typematching

Something I like doing is staring at advertising and signage in the world around me and trying to figure out if it's a typeface I recognise. Sometimes it can be a real challenge, and it really encourages you to remember the details of your favourite letterforms.

Featured Typeface ... Matrix by Zuzana Licko, of Emigre

Every now and again you find a typeface that intrigues you, gels with your personality, engages you creatively, or piques your curiousity ... Matrix was one such typeface for me. EMIGRE, a digital type foundry, (one place where you can purchase fonts that makes the world a more textual place) has produced many unique and interesting typeface designs. Type Experimentation

There are exercises that you can do to open your mind to different type styles and this is the result of a typebook doing exactly that. Using restrictions on what fonts you use, size, weight, etc, and then adding them back in, gives you a chance to revitalize. I would love to be able to do more 'art-type', it's definitely on my to-do List.
